Integrated Math III (Period 5th)
Course Description
Prerequisite: Core Connections Integrated Math II or equivalent courses with a grade of “C” or better. The Integrated Mathematics III course is a third course in a three-year series that replaces the traditional pathway of Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II. PUSD integrated courses are based on the Integrated High School Pathway described in the CCSS Appendix A. In this third course, students will expand upon concepts learned in Integrated I and II by exploring functions, solving equations, linear and quadratic math models, completing the square, transformations of graphs, and geometric modeling. In addition, these standards will be included: complex numbers, solving one-variable and two-variable inequalities, inverses, exponential and logarithmic functions, series, operations of rational expressions, three-variable systems, trigonometry with triangles, and the unit circle. Probability and statistics standards include permutations, combinations, sampling, variability, and various data distributions. Student-owned graphing calculators such as a TI-84+ are strongly encouraged for this course. Additionally, access to the internet will be helpful.
