Spanish 1 (Period 2nd)

Course Description

This one-year course is designed for the Spanish student who has an interest in studying the language and cultures of the Spanish-speaking world. It is designed as a beginning course in language acquisition. The PUSD World Language Department uses a teaching method called TPRS, which stands for Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling. TPRS incorporates actions, stories, drawing, drama, songs, literature, games, and technology in language instruction. The cultures of the Spanish-speaking world are taught via literature, videos, guest speakers, and technology. This one-year course meets the UC and CSU Requirement for E: Language other than English.
